"Kudos! The theme of the sea was creatively woven throughout the program. We could hear the dolphins. We felt the sadness of leaving home and the joy of the Belfast music. Just wonderful!" --Janice Mazzarella after July 14, 2016 performance

About

The Oceans of Space tour scheduled for July 8-25, 2016 in Texas and California hopes to raise awareness of ocean conservation concerns. This tour features the flute/harp duo Chaski, of Austin, Texas. Flutist and Berkeley native Adrienne Inglis and harpist Shana Norton have performed, toured, and recorded together for over 31 years. Chaski will tour its new commission for flute and lever harp by Brandon Nelson based on the stories of Celtic sea god Manannán mac Lir. Concerts will take place in private homes by reservation and in public venues. Voluntary donations received at the events will be split 50/50 between ocean conservation and reimbursement of some of the musicians' travel expenses. The program of classical, Celtic, Sephardic, and Latin American folk music will revolve around the theme of oceans and water.
