Celtic Chaski
Shana Norton: clàrsach (Celtic harp made in Scottish Highlands) Celtic Chaski features two
of the three members of Chaski, harpist Shana Norton and flutist
Adrienne Inglis. The
duo performs Celtic music from Scotland and Ireland, as well as music
from Spain, Italy, and England. Their every-expanding repertoire
includes the following pieces: An

flute and harp music in April of
1985. Venezuelan songs that Adrienne’s mother had brought from
her homeland gradually made their way into Chaski’s repertoire.
Shana and Adrienne joined the University of Texas at Austin Brazilian
and Andean Music Ensembles to learn more about depth and variety of
Latin American music. The success of their expanded repertoire
led them to welcome guitarist Dan Dickey into the group in about 1991.
More recently, Shana has studied Celtic harp in Scotland with numerous
masters of the instrument. Adrienne enjoys celebrating her
Scottish heritage by playing music from the lands of her ancestors on
different flutes. The background of this
webpage is the ancient Inglis tartan.
